It has been lovely to get to know the children this week and to begin our year in such a positive way. I have been so impressed with the way that the children have settled into many of our routines and I’m sure they will be just as fantastic as we get into our normal timetable next week.
There have been so many highlights this week. One of my favourites was an RE lesson reflecting on talents and attributes. The children went around the classroom writing down their thoughts about each other. It was so great to hear the kind words they had to describe each other. What a wonderful group of children we have.
Although the week ended on a sombre note with the passing of The Queen, it gave an opportunity for our children to demonstrate their empathy and kindness. The children created some beautiful poems which both myself and Mrs Connolly were really impressed and moved by. The thoughtfulness and effort shown made us really proud.
Well done Y5/6; we are really looking forward to the year ahead.
