I have been really impressed with the way year 5/6 have settled into our routine this week. We have begun our full timetable of lessons and the children have all tried really hard.
In English we have started our new class novel- Beowulf by Michael Morpurgo. I think a few of us have quite enjoyed the bloodthirsty Grendel’s destructive nature however can’t wait to find out how Beowulf will stand up against it.
In maths, year 6 have had a great start in their new groups and both Mrs Pearson and Mrs Goodchild have been really impressed. I have been so pleased with the year 5’s who have worked really hard all week.
To end our week we have been doing some cheer dance. We learnt the moves and I challenged the children to see if they could remember them all. They were very fast and have very good memories- I’ll have to find a trickier challenge for next week!
Enjoy the long weekend,
