In Y6 magpie (along with our Y5 science friends!), we have been exploring how we can separate mixtures. We looked at evaporation, sieving, filtration and magnetism. The mixtures we separated were: flour with raisins; salt with water; sand with water and paperclips with rice. Can you guess which method we used for each? We are waiting to see how the evaporation turns out over the next few weeks!
