St Luke’s Fundraiser

This Friday we will be having our class fundraiser for St Luke’s. Children in Y5/6 can come in non-uniform (£1) and will have the opportunity to take part in various activities in the afternoon for a donation.

We have also suggested that the children could do some jobs at home to earn some extra donations!

Fantastic Cushions

Here are our fantastic cushions. We spent ages planning our pattern pieces, cutting out, sewing pieces together, stuffing and finishing the sewing to create them. Well Done to everyone! (A few haven’t quite finished so they can finish them the first week back!)

Sewing

This week, I have been super impressed by the effort and excitement that Y5/6 have had for their Design and Technology project. Lots of the children have been asking when we can do more sewing! Even though it can be very frustrating, everyone has had a positive attitude and worked really hard. I can’t wait to see the final results.

Food Bank

Denise Coleman and I will be collecting for the St. Wilfrid’s Centre next Thursday morning, 30th Jan.  We would be very grateful if you could put a reminder on your class blog. Please see the attached file which outlines which food group has been allocated to your class.

We are very grateful for your continued support.

Please, do not hesitate to get in touch with any queries.

Kind regards

Denise Coleman & Jane Hindmarch

Young Writers: Congratulations!

All the children from our class, who entered the young writers competition, have been chosen to be published! We had to write a story with a beginning, middle and end in just 100 words- not an easy task.

Once they have arrived in school, parents will be sent a letter with a username and password to authorise the work to be published. We will send a reminder out to parents when these have been sent home.

Well done everyone!

Secret Santa

Our class have decided to take part in a class secret santa this Thursday. The children have been asked to bring a wrapped gift costing less than £2. This is not compulsory and I will bring a few spare gifts to ensure nobody is left out.

We have completed various challenges during maths week. Year 5 have completed the maths quiz to find the magic number to add to the schools total. Today we explored lots of different maths investigations. This afternoon we have been trying really hard on Times Tables Rockstars- we really want to the be the best class in the challenge!
