Well kind of! I hope you have all had a lovely 2 weeks break and spent lots of time outdoors and with your family (even if it is only virtually!) I have missed speaking with you all and can’t wait to catch up with what you have all been up to. The stream on Google classroom has now been turned back on so please let me know if you need anything. Parents can also email enquiries@stwilfridssheffield.co.uk with any questions or to keep me informed of how things are at home.
This week I have set up various tasks on Google Classroom. I know many of you will have different ways of working, so if you are finding it hard to keep up or need a bit of support in anything just get in touch- I am here to help. Remember this work is for the whole of this week, so please pace yourself.
This week’s work:
Y5 maths
MyMaths activities – More written methods and More addition and subtraction. For some of you I have added a couple of extra activities to remind you about column addition and subtraction (this is not for everyone and is not expected, just an extra bit of support if you would like to use it).
Arithmetic 3 on Google Classroom
White Rose Maths Challenges on Google Classroom. There are lots there but I would like you to have a go at Challenge 1 and Challenge 2.
English (all on Google Classroom)
Reading comprehension A trillion Tropical Leaves
Reading comprehension Best Footballer
Relative clauses (revision guides and worksheet)
Descriptive writing task – write one paragraph describing the setting of the picture
Wider Curriculum Project
The Alps Presentation: Before Christmas we were learning about The Alps. Use the BBC website, your own knowledge and your own research to create a presentation all about The Alps. There is some guidance on Google Classroom to help.

Remember to keep on with daily reading and regularly visit TTRS to revise your timestable knowledge. Those with Lexia logins should continue to use this for 20 mins 4 x week (or daily if you can!)
PE
Make sure you are doing some physical exercise each day. You might like to go for a walk, join Joe Wicks, Just Dance (my new favourite thing!), playing outside or anything else you can think of. Perhaps you could encourage everyone in your family to take part.
As always, stay safe and keep smiling!
